The TMS69BL9813 and TMS69BL14 are part of the Power Series from Rockford and include a set of Element Ready TMS69 6×9-inch speakers. The kit includes new grilles and mounting hardware. Unlike other bag lid speaker systems, the Rockford solution uses your existing lid covers and includes a cutting template to let us quickly and accurately create a mounting location for the new 6×9 speakers. Using the factory lids saves a great deal of time and expense versus attempting to color-match and paint new lids.

TMS69 Speaker Technology

The TMS69 speakers included in the bag lid kits include a carbon-fiber reinforced polypropylene woofer cone molded to a synthetic rubber surround. A massive 35mm voice coil ensures that the 100-watt power rating is completely realistic. An ultra-efficient 25mm film dome tweeter includes waveguides to help direct the output towards the driver for smooth frequency response.

In keeping with the Element Ready design of all the Motorcycle and Motorsports upgrade solutions from Rockford, the TMS69 are water resistant and feature UV resistant materials for excellent longevity.

How the Bag Lid Speaker Upgrade Works

Installing the Rockford Fosgate TMS69BL9813 and TMS69BL14 on your bag lids is quite easy. We will remove your bag lids and protect the paint finish with painters tape or shipping wrap. Once we have fitted the cutting template, we can drill the access holes and cut out the lid. It’s only a matter of removing the protective tape and bolting the speaker mounting bracket and grille together for us to complete the bag modifications.

Why Do I Need to Upgrade My Harley Audio System?

When it comes to the potato-potato exhaust note, Harley has nailed every aspect of the sound of their bikes. On the other hand, when it comes to audio there is room for improvement. If you own a Harley cruiser, you have undoubtedly realized that the system simply doesn’t play loud enough and gets pretty rough at high volume levels. Rockford Fosgate HD14-TKIT

At the heart of the HD14-TKIT are a set of Rockford’s TMS65 6.5-inch coaxial weather resistant speakers and a TM400X4ad four-channel amplifier. The speakers use high-power neodymium motors to provide solid bass and excellent efficiency in a compact package. A massive 35mm voice coil, in addition to a carbon-fiber reinforced polypropylene woofer cone aids power handling. The integrated tweeter uses a proprietary film dome design.

The TM400X4ad amplifier provides up to 100 watts per channel into 2- or 4-ohm loads. If you are running a single set of speakers, the amp can be bridged to provide 200 watts. The Element Ready design of the amp can withstand exposure to dust and humidity and is completely at home on a motorcycle.

The Rockford Fosgate HD14-TKIT includes a mounting bracket for the amplifier and a wire harness that includes provisions for upgrading the rear Tour-Pak speakers with another set of TMS65 (on 2014 and newer bikes).

Older Harley-Davidson Road Glide and Street Glide Applications

Rockford has similar Power Series systems for the 1998 to 2013 Road Glide called the HD9813RG-TKIT and a kit for the 2006 to 2013 Street Glide: the HD9813SG-TKIT. Both kits use TMS65 speakers, the same TM400X4ad Power Series amplifier and include mounting brackets, grilles and harnesses to ensure a reliable installation. Likewise, rear speaker options are available in the form of the TMS5 5.25-inch version of the TMS6.

Both the HD9813RG-TKIT and HD14-TKIT install without the need for us to cut or modify any part of your bike. The included brackets use existing fastener locations, and the wiring harnesses are terminated with factory-compatible connectors. Once we have everything installed, we will adjust the amplifier to provide maximum performance and reliability.

Tunes-N-Tint’s Award-Winning History

If you are in the Lakeland, Florida, area, then you have undoubtedly heard of Tunes-N-Tint. Our mobile enhancement business has been serving Central Florida for years. We thought it would be interesting to give our clients some insight into the history of the company and outline some of the services we offer.

Location History

Tunes-N-Tint started as a mobile installation company in Tampa in 2000. After much initial success, we decided in 2001 that it was time to open a retail facility to provide our clients and staff with a way to experience our products and services before purchasing. We grew quickly and had to find a second location for increased storage.

The next step was to open a second location in Lakeland in 2007. The Lakeland store also grew quickly, resulting in opening a third location in central Lakeland in 2009, and then a South Lakeland location in 2011.

In 2012, we made a significant change. We spun off the Tampa location into a separate company, changed our name to Tunes-N-Tint and consolidated the Lakeland locations into our single state-of-the-art store at 4980 US Highway 98N.

With ample parking, well-equipped installation bays and a showroom that features modern interactive displays, our current location is well-known as one of the top automotive accessory and restyling centers in the area.

Staff Training and Certification

A business is nothing without its staff. We have employed more than 100 technicians over the years and they have all been certified by the Mobile Electronics Certified Professional (MECP) program – the only nationally recognized program of its kind in our industry. Currently, all of our technicians are both MECP-certified and have their Automotive Service Excellence (ASE ) A6 Electrical and Electronic Systems accreditation. Almost all of our team members, including management and sales staff, share this same training.

Over the years, we have been part of the MERA, ICE, ME, CEA (now CTA), IWFA and MESA professional organizations. We are active in various industry groups and regularly collaborate with other successful retailers to expand our knowledge and service offerings.

To be able to work efficiently, we have invested a great deal of money in equipment for our store. We have an in-house CNC-controlled laser cutter and a 3D printer and scanning system. Our woodworking area is equipped with a large table saw, multiple router stations, a wide variety of router templates and a complete dust collection system.

Since we began tinting in 2001, we have used computerized cutting to ensure each piece of window film fits your vehicle perfectly. We were one of the first companies in Florida to use computerized cutting. We also have an interactive display that demonstrates the thermal properties of the different films we offer.

Harley-Davidson Motorcycle Audio System for Auburndale Biker

A client from Auburndale, FL, contacted Tunes-N-Tint in Lakeland when researching motorcycle audio and lighting options for his Harley. He wanted to be able to hear the music over his pipes without taking up any additional room on the bike. He also wanted the bike to stand out more. Of course, he wanted to do all of this while staying within a reasonable budget.

Our expert motorcycle audio & lighting specialists here at Tunes-N-Tint installed JL Audio Vex Pods (PS650-VeX-SG-TMB-LDB) on the front of the bike. We created custom mounting brackets and used closed-cell foam to ensure the chrome finish was protected and the installation was secure. The JL Audio Vex Pods are powered by a JL Audio PowerSports Amplifier (MX280/4) with a matching Harley orange/black finish. The amplifier is mounted on a custom LED backlit plate that is tied into the bike’s new lighting system. The source for all of this audio is actually the customer’s iPhone.

We installed a hidden Bluetooth streaming device hidden so 100% of the music and volume control is directly from the customer’s iPhone. This is a common solution we use for powersports, motorcycle and marine projects to provide a stealth way to pipe sound directly from your pocket.

We installed a color-changing LED lighting package, hidden from view on this Harley-Davidson motorcycle with a custom controller that can be set to any color or will change colors to the roar of the motor.
