Char-Broil Commercial Series BBQ Audio for Lakeland Client

A Tunes-N-Tint Client from Lakeland who had a love for grilling and audio just took home this custom BBQ Grill package. Now grilling is going to be so much more fun while rocking out to the built-in Kenwood stereo package. What better way to blend two of the best summer pastimes than cooking out with some great music? Here at Tunes-N-Tint, we love ’em both!

This system features a 400 W Kenwood Bluetooth amp that allows wireless streaming directly from the client’s iPhone or Android smartphone. The amplifier powers two Kenwood speakers that we mounted in the stainless steel doors of the BBQ grill. They are sealed on the back and take up virtually no room on the inside.

Inside the grill, we installed a small, 12 V power source and charging system that maintains the battery. We understand you’re not always cooking out near an outlet, so this one is portable and can play for up to four hours from the battery.

This particular build didn’t feature an actual radio, since everything is handled by Bluetooth streaming. For those who want a full-featured AM/FM radio and/or CD player. We can also offer marine source unit solutions.

Lakeland Client Gets Dodge Durango Subwoofer System

A local client purchased this 2016 Dodge Durango SUV and immediately wanted to add a subwoofer system. The dealership recommended us here at Tunes-N-Tint for the work. We talked to the client about his vision for the performance and style of the system. With a plan in place, we scheduled an appointment to start work.

We created a custom subwoofer enclosure that replaced the third row of seats. The enclosure is home to a pair of JL Audio 8W3v3 subwoofers and is powered by a JL Audio XD600/1v2 amplifier. We finished the enclosure in a durable carpet that matches the interior of the truck quite well. The front of the enclosure has a pressed mesh grille that conceals the subs and amp. The client didn’t want anything flashy like vinyl or lighting.

Once we had the system wired to the factory head and tuned, it was time for the client to have his first listen. He was stunned by how loud the pair of eight-inch subs could play and by their low-frequency extension. Lakeland Client Gets Cool Power Wheels Audio System

Power-Wheels-Audio-15 Lakeland Client Gets Cool Power Wheels Audio System Now and then, a truly unique project rolls into Tunes-N-Tint in Lakeland, Florida. In this case, the client wanted a real audio system installed in a BMW Power Wheels. If you are not familiar with Power Wheels, they are battery-operated ride-on toys for kids. We talked to the client about how he wanted the system to sound and subsequently designed something unique for this Power Wheels audio build.

Amp Rack

To power the system, we used a JL Audio HX280/4 amplifier. This four-channel amp is capable of producing 50 watts of power per channel into a 4 ohm load or can be bridged to produce 140 watts of power to a single driver. We made an amp rack that looks like the cover for a convertible top and finished it in heavy-duty truck bed undercoating.

Subwoofer Enclosure and Speakers

The enclosure was constructed out of a durable plastic.

Our team created a subwoofer enclosure for a single JL Audio 6W3 6.5-inch subwoofer. We constructed the compact bandpass enclosure out of white expanded PVC plastic. The enclosure is located at the very rear of the vehicle, essentially under the amp rack. We mounted it using stainless steel brackets and fasteners.

To provide clear and detailed high-frequency performance, we installed a set of JL Audio TR 650 6.5-inch coaxial speakers. We mounted the speakers on either side of the cockpit on reinforcement panels and applied bed liner material to the speaker panels to protect them from water damage.

Simple Signal Source

Since space was at a premium, we used a JL Audio MBT-CRX Bluetooth receiver to serve as the “head unit” for the system. All the client has to do is pair his, or his kid’s, smartphone to the JL receiver. He can control system volume by using the volume control on the phone or the controls on the face of the JL unit. Since the MBT-CRX includes the AVRCP Bluetooth profile, the driver can change tracks remotely as well.

Accents and Lighting

All of the wiring was neatly run, and LED lighting accents the BMW.

We installed RBG LED strips under the vehicle and in the wheel wells to give the little BMW some extra bling. The headlights are now home to a set of high-output LEDs for a little more realism. We smoked the taillights of the BMW for that stormtrooper look as the final addition to the project.

Power Wheels Audio System Delivery

The Power Wheels audio project was a lot of fun for everyone here at Tunes-N-Tint. It gave our technicians a chance to do something a little different. The system sounds great and gets amazingly loud for the size of the vehicle. The client was thrilled.

Can-Am Maverick Upgrades for Lakeland Business Owner

Can-Am-Maverick-Upgrades-10 Can-Am Maverick Upgrades for Lakeland Business Owner A local business owner from here in Lakeland, Florida, brought his 2011 Can-Am Maverick 1000r to Tunes-N-Tint for some cosmetic and audio upgrades. The client had already made some upgrades to the UTV and wanted to add lighting and an audio system. We took a good look at the Maverick and discussed the client’s goals so we could design a system that would sound great and make the vehicle look amazing at night. Once the client approved the project, we scheduled an appointment to start the planned Can-Am Maverick upgrades.

Lighting Upgrades

We starting the vehicle lighting upgrades by installing a pair of Race Sport RSLD6KITRGB 5-foot RGB LED whips on the rear of the vehicle. The next step was installing a set of Race Sport RSLD6KITRGB LED Glow Pods on the fenders as rock lights. We moved to the radiator relocation shroud next, with custom RGB strip lighting. We also installed RGB lighting under the seats, on the dash and inside the body trim lines. The last piece of lighting was a set of Halo rings for the headlight projector lenses.

Audio System Speakers

The audio system portion of the project started with the installation of four Kicker KM654LCW 6.5-inch coaxial speakers in the fiberglass Stealth Canopy over the cockpit area. The rear roll cage is home to a pair of Kicker KMTES8 8-inch speaker enclosures with KM654LCW 8.0-inch speakers installed in them. All the Kicker speakers include integrated RGB LED lighting in the grille. The client can choose whatever color he wants for any of the RGB lights on the Can-Am.

Source Unit and Amplifiers

We installed a Kenwood eXcelon-series source unit in the dash and a pair of JL Audio MX280/4 amplifiers in the canopy to power the system. We wired one speaker to each channel of the first amp, then bridged the second amplifier to power the 8.0-inch speakers on the rear of the UTV.

To beef up power delivery to the pair of amplifiers, we upgraded the factory battery to an MPower MP950 AGM dry cell battery. We installed a quick-connection battery tender and plug-n-play Race Sport Jump Pack. Should the battery ever go dead, the client will be able to jump-start it quickly.

Can-Am Maverick Upgrades

Once we had the audio system tuned and had completed securing and protecting all the wiring for the lights, it was time for the client to return to Tunes-N-Tint to see and hear the Maverick for the first time. He loved the way it looked and the way it sounded.
