Product Spotlight: WeatherTech Floor Liners

October 20, 2017 By Staff

WeatherTech-Floor-Liners-1 Product Spotlight: WeatherTech Floor Liners Clients looking for the best way to keep the interior of their cars or trucks clean should check out WeatherTech FloorLiners at Tunes-N-Tint in Lakeland, Florida. These products offer unparalleled protection against dirt, mud or sand getting spread all over your vehicle. While other companies have tried to replicate them, none offer the durability, fit and finish of the original WeatherTech FloorLiner.

Application Specific Design

WeatherTech-Floor-Liners-2-300x225 Product Spotlight: WeatherTech Floor Liners WeatherTech creates each FloorLiner from a digital scan of the vehicle interior. WeatherTech works directly with vehicle manufacturers to ensure that even the subtlest of contour and location of any retaining clips is perfect for each application.

FloorLiners are much more than just new floor mats. The walls extend up the sides of the footwell to capture fluids and debris. The lower reservoir integrated into the front seat liners help to manage liquids so they aren’t sloshing around while you are driving. If you have ever driven in snowy and slushy conditions, you will certainly appreciate this feature. If you are prone to spilling your pumpkin spice latte while driving, you will be equally thankful.

Premium Material Construction

WeatherTech-Floor-Liners-3-300x225 Product Spotlight: WeatherTech Floor Liners WeatherTech products, like FloorLiners, CargoLiners and TrunkLiners, are made in the USA using a proprietary high-density tri-extruded (HDTE) thermoplastic elastomer material. The injection molding dies, raw materials and packing materials are all from right here in America.

WeatherTech’s FloorLiners maintain their shape in extreme heat and cold conditions. The color is solid through the entire mat, so even after years of use, they will continue to look great. FloorLiners are available in black, tan and gray for most applications, with a few specialty solutions available in a darker cocoa color.

WeatherTech FloorLiners Offer Unparalleled Protection

If you want to keep the interior of your vehicle looking like new, drop by Tunes-N-Tint and ask us about WeatherTech FloorLiners for your car, truck or SUV. Applications are available from front-, second- and even third-row seating locations where applicable.

If you have any questions about our interior care products or services, drop by, give us a call or send us an e-mail.

Factory Audio System Amplification Possible at Tunes-N-Tint

October 16, 2017 By Staff

Factory-Audio-System-Amplification-1 Factory Audio System Amplification Possible at Tunes-N-Tint When it comes to making your stereo sound better, Tunes-N-Tint in Lakeland has factory audio system amplification experts. Adding more power to the stereo that came with your car or truck will let you turn up the volume and reduce distortion. With a new amp in the system, new speakers and a subwoofer will bring the audio system to life. Let’s look at a few of the options we have for upgrading the power available in your audio system.

Line-level Converters

Factory-Audio-System-Amplification-2-300x185 Factory Audio System Amplification Possible at Tunes-N-Tint Perhaps the simplest interface solution to connect a new amplifier to your factory source unit is a device called a line-level converter. The concept is simple: Take the high voltage signal from your factory radio and lower it to a level that can be fed into a new amplifier. These devices are also called high-to-low converters or line output converters.

There are two types of line-level converters available: passive and active. A passive device is compact and often relatively inexpensive. These units contain variable resistors and transformers to let you reduce the voltage. The second option is an active device like the PAC Audio LOC Pro LP7 and AudioControl LC2 and LC7 devices. These devices require a powered connection, but provide better audio performance and include an output to turn on your new amp when the factory radio turns on.

Factory Amplifier Integration Solutions

Factory-Audio-System-Amplification-3-300x194 Factory Audio System Amplification Possible at Tunes-N-Tint If your car or truck includes a factory amplifier that has equalization, crossovers and signal delay built in, then we have two different options available. JL Audio offers two OEM Integration processors called the FiX-82 and FiX-86. These processors perform the same task as a line-level converter but can remove equalization, recombine signals that have been filtered for woofers, midrange and tweeters, and undo signal delay. The output of the devices resembles, as closely as possible, the signal you’d see coming out of an aftermarket head unit.

The second options for vehicles with complex built-in amplifiers are replacement modules like the PAC AmpPRO 4. For clients with 2013 and new Ford F-150 trucks with the Sony sound system and for many of the Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep and RAM vehicles, the AmPro 4 modules plug into your vehicle in place of the factory amp and provide all the same navigation prompt, door chime and audio signal routing as an aftermarket head unit.

Factory Audio System Amplification Integration

As with any audio system upgrade, the system design and equipment plays a signal significant role in the performance improvement, but of equal importance is how we install and configure that equipment. Our technicians work on mobile audio systems every day. They understand the wiring routing and connection techniques required to ensure your system will perform reliably for years. How we set the crossovers and sensitivity settings on your new amplifiers will ensure you can crank your tunes without fear of blowing up speakers or subwoofers.

Upgrade Your Sound at Tunes-N-Tint

When it comes time to upgrade your sound system, drop by Tunes-N-Tint and talk to a member of our team. We can help design an audio system that will keep the factory look and feel of your vehicle, and use our factory audio system amplification solutions to make it sound amazing! For more information, give us a call or send us an e-mail using our contact page.

Car Alarms Protect Your Car and Its Contents

September 30, 2017 By Staff

Car-Alarms-1 Car Alarms Protect Your Car and Its Contents When it comes to protecting your vehicle and its contents, Tunes-N-Tint in Lakeland offer some of the best car alarm solutions in Florida. Unlike a factory car alarm that only goes off when you open a door, a car alarm from Viper includes a shock sensor to warn thieves before any damage occurs. Let’s look at some of the features and options we offer our clients to safeguard their cars, trucks and SUVs.

Theft Deterrent Solution

The goal of a security system is to prevent damage, vandalism and theft. The premium two-stage shock sensors systems we install are configured to provide an audible warning to anyone who touches your vehicle. Most thieves target neighborhoods or parking lots. If they hear a clear warning, they are most likely going to move on to the next opportunity.

These days, identity theft is a growing concern. Even something as simple as a receipt or business card can give thieves valuable personal information. Our warn-away solutions help keep the contents of your vehicle safe. Directed Electronics (the parent company behind Viper, Clifford and Python) offers the CTP504A Content Theft Protection package that works with most OEM alarms. The vehicle is protected by a shock sensor and contents like your airbag, radio or purse are covered up to $2500 for three years after the system purchase.

System Communication Options

Car-Alarms-2-194x300 Car Alarms Protect Your Car and Its Contents , We’ve all heard a car alarm going off on the other side of a parking lot, but how many of us jump into action to find out why? We offer 2-way remote control and communication remote packages from Viper and Compustar. These packages will alert you when the system presents a warn-away alert or goes into full alarm mode.

For the ultimate in connectivity, the Viper SmartStart system provides the same communication capabilities but with nearly unlimited range thanks to a smartphone interface. With a premium service plan, you can add GPS alerts that will tell you if your vehicle moves, enters a restricted area or exceeds a preset speed limit. SmartStart is a great solution for business owners or families, especially if the kids like to borrow the family car.

Car Alarms and More at Tunes-N-Tint

From a nice set of wheels or the catalytic converter under your car, there are always people who want your property. Drop into Tunes-N-Tint and speak with a member of our sales team about protecting your vehicle and its contents with one of our car alarms. We can easily add a remote starter to let your car, truck or SUV cool off before you get in. We are open Monday to Saturday from 9 to 6 to serve you. If you have questions outside of business hours, send us an e-mail using our online contact form.

What is Apple CarPlay and How Do I Get It in My Vehicle?

September 29, 2017 By Staff

Apple-CarPlay-1 What is Apple CarPlay and How Do I Get It in My Vehicle? Over the past few years, questions about Apple CarPlay have been common here at Tunes-N-Tint in Lakeland, Florida. This smartphone integration solution not only provides easy access to information and entertainment, but makes communication safer while behind the wheel. This article discusses what Apple CarPlay is, the benefits it offers and how we can integrate CarPlay into your vehicle.

What is Apple CarPlay?

Apple developed CarPlay as a way to make using your iPhone safer while you’re driving. Using its Siri voice recognition engine and software built into your car radio, Apple has made sending and receiving text messages, making phone calls, and checking voicemail as easy as speaking to your radio. Unlike old-fashioned voice recognition systems that required slow and methodical single-word prompts, you can ask CarPlay to “Send a text message to AJ” or “Call Austin on his mobile phone.” The system searches your contacts and performs the task nearly instantly. If you don’t know a phone number, Siri will search the Internet for the best possible match. You can ask it to “Call Tunes-N-Tint in Lakeland,” and it will figure out our number for you.

Endless Entertainment Options

CarPlay makes it easy to access the music on your phone. You can ask to listen to any artist, song or album by asking for it by name. If you have subscribed to Apple Music, you can pick from tracks in your iCloud music library or from their streaming catalog. CarPlay is also compatible with Spotify and Pandora. You can also listen to podcasts and audiobooks simply by using your voice.

Premium Navigation Solution

Apple-CarPlay-2-300x238 What is Apple CarPlay and How Do I Get It in My Vehicle? Apple Maps is another fundamental component of the CarPlay system. Using information from your e-mail, text messages, contacts and calendars, Maps can help you plan an efficient route to nearly any destination you can think of. If you know an address, you can ask the system to take you there. If you don’t know the address but know a company name, Siri will search the Internet for the best address match.

Route planning makes use of real-time traffic flow information to get you where you want to go quickly. Turn-by-turn voice prompts mean you can keep your eyes on the road.

Upgrade Your Vehicle with Apple CarPlay

Tunes-N-Tint offers CarPlay-equipped solutions like the Kenwood DNX-994, DDX9903, DDX9904s and the DMX7704. We also carry several Pioneer NEX solutions, including the new single-DIN AVH-3300NEX. Drop by the store and bring your iPhone, we’d be happy to show you how a new Kenwood or Pioneer receiver can make your time behind the wheel safer and more productive. For more information, we invite you to call us at 863-617-7280 or send us an e-mail using our online contact page. We hope to hear from you soon!
