How The Voxx PSD100D Parking Sensor Works
The Voxx PSD100D uses sophisticated ultrasonic sensors that get flush-mounted into your rear bumper and “see” what is behind you. A control module tells the sensors to go live whenever your car, truck or SUV is placed in reverse. You will hear a single, audible beep to alert you that the sensors are working.
Our team strategically places a visual display upfront that alerts you in three stages. Stage one begins at approximately 6 feet away from an object, giving you a slow beep and a flashing green indicator. Stage two begins at approximately 3 feet away and moves to a fast beep and a flashing yellow indicator. Stage three starts a little over 1 foot away and goes to a constant beep and a flashing red indicator.
Weather and Night-time Driving Don’t Affect Performance
One of the side effects of using a camera-style aid for backing up is that rain and snow can affect performance. Weather conditions won’t affect our parking sensor system, though, so you can have peace of mind no matter how lousy the weather is. Another benefit is that the sensors work just as well in pitch-black darkness as in bright sunshine.
Front Sensors Can be Added for Face-in Parking
